The Feet First Mizuno 5K Winter Series, Killarney Co Kerry is back for it's third year and this year promises to be something special.
Race 1 took place in very wet conditions on the 22nd of October. Just under 300 finished the race. There were some great times achieved by all athletes, with Cullen Lynch from Togher AC taking the race in 16.25.Togher AC athletes dominated the race with veteran John Barrett, Gneeveguilla AC running an exceptional race to take second.
Race 2 took place on a very calm and sunny day in Killarney. Again just under 300 finished the race, with Olympic hopeful Robert Heffernan walking the race in fine style. The race was dominated by a fine run by Dermot McDermott who in the last Km saw off the challenge from Peter Hanrahan from Togher AC and John Barrett from Gneeveguilla AC. What was more encouraging from the second race was the amount of PB's achieved by many of the athletes, many of them first time runners.
